Médiamétrie, the leading media research company in France and Twitter, a global real-time public conversations platform, announce the launch in France of Médiamétrie Twitter TV Ratings. This is the first audience measurement tool for Tweets sent in connection with a television program. Médiamétrie and Twitter have already launched its development to allow the product to be released next year.
Beyond the number of Tweets per program, Médiamétrie Twitter TV Ratings will provide its users with an analysis of the social TV audience in France, with in particular a new indicator: the number of people (accounts) who have seen the Tweets at About a TV show.
“Our studies highlight the rapid growth of social TV: 1 in 5 Internet users comments on TV programs, the number of Tweets has tripled between 2012 and 2013. With Twitter, we will help the media to better measure and understand the news forms of interaction of Internet viewers with TV broadcasts ”, comments Julien Rosanvallon (@Jrosanvallon), Director of the Television Department at Médiamétrie.
According to Justine Ryst (@JustineRyst), Director of Development at Twitter France, “Médiamétrie Twitter TV Ratings will provide relevant data to media professionals to improve their TV strategies on Twitter. This independent measurement tool will thus allow broadcasters and advertisers to quantify and assess the level of engagement of television programs. "
Médiamétrie Twitter TV Ratings is intended for all audiovisual and digital players: television channels, media agencies and institutions that want to analyze the loyalty and engagement of viewers interacting with their shows and invest in Twitter to better promote the programs.
A leader in media studies, Médiamétrie observes, measures and analyzes public behavior and market trends. Created in 1985, Médiamétrie develops its activities in France and internationally on Television, Radio, Internet, Cinema, Mobile Phone and Cross-Media.
